The work exists at the same time and in the same place with the observer who is "just standing there."
Basically it is a mental image that has been created from memory and imagination, something that does not exist. In order to make it concrete, I make a concrete representation of it. By looking at its expressions, he can probably find the overlapping part in his memory. Or perhaps, his memory could embody the impression of the work.
The more he contemplates, the more he perceives the “character’s” fictional setting, so that I believe that he might be able to find the story in which he could share.
「ただそこに立っている」
鑑賞者と共に同じ時間、同じ場所に作品が存在している。
作品は本来存在しない記憶や想像から生み出された心象であり、私は、それを具体化するために具象表現をしている。その表情をみることで、鑑賞者自身の記憶の中から重なり合う部分を探すことができるのではないだろうか。あるいは鑑賞者が持っている記憶が作品の印象となり得るかもしれない。
静観するほどその「人物」の架空の背景を感じ、自分自身との共有できる物語を探すことができるのではないかと考えている。
